Junior Data Scientist

Junior Data Scientist

Do you see yourself in a career where algorithms and data analytics is at the core of your professional profile? If so, we have a unique opportunity where you can develop your expertise in data analysis, gain concrete toolstack experience within Microsoft PowerBI, SQL Server, Integration Services and other core technologies in the data analysis tech stack in a hybrid cloud environment. This opportunity is particularly interesting if you want to use your data skills in a business context, since you will be a member of our product development and service delivery team which is pivotal to our scale-up journey.

About the job

Kostner delivers a BI solution for financial management of cloud costs – we call it FinOpsBI-as-a-Service. We analyze and optimize a significant portion of the overall cloud spend in Denmark.

Your job will be to work in our product development and service delivery team with tasks like:

  • Data consistency and maintenance
  • Running our AI solution, updating customer data and QA of results
  • Troubleshooting
  • Ad hoc reporting in SQL and PowerBI

These are just some examples. Your tasks will develop over time as you get deeper into our platform.

You will be reporting to Mathias our Chief Data Scientist who started here as Junior Data Scientist five years ago, and we promise you that he will teach you everything you need to become a true master in building BI solutions.

About you

There are three fundamentals we deeply care about:

  • You need to fit in with the rest of the team. This is hard to describe, but mostly though, it means you’re smart, always curious, and able to switch between humor and seriousness.
  • You love large volumes of data and complex analyses. Of course, it is great if you have some experience from another student job, using Excel Pivot, PowerBI or some of the statistics packages (R, SPSS, …), but we will prefer someone with strong mathematical skills and interest over specific tech experience.
  • You can work 15-20 hours per week – of course with flexibility around exams. Initially we want you to work on location to get you onboarded the best possible way, but we promote a flexible working environment. We are located in DTU Science Park on direct bus routes from Nørreport, DTU Campus etc.
